- What is the difference between your 4 inch straps and 2.5 inch? If I play bass does that mean I automatically need a 4 inch strap?
It all depends on the width of the players shoulder. Fit and comfort are the name of our game. Naturally a 4 inch strap would distribute the weight better, however if your shoulder isn’t wide enough, the strap will not fit properly. Our 2.5 inch strap was the strap Michael Molenda reviews in the "Suede vs. Leather" FAQ. If you know how heavy a classic Les Paul is, you will clearly know how comfortable our straps are.
"If you never thought you would fall in love with a guitar strap before... get your engagement ring out for this.” Moody Leather straps make even a Les Paul seem weightless."
Michael Molenda, editor in chief Guitar Player magazine.
- What is the difference between leather and suede backing?
Our velvet suede backing is perfect for those players who need their instrument to "stick" or hold in place. Its velvet finish creates a soft and luxurious feel.
Our leather back straps are lined with Italian glove leather. This super soft leather does not stick nor slides around on the shoulder. Both versions make your instrument feel lighter.

- What categorizes Moody Leather straps as luxury? What is a luxury guitar strap?
It’s all in the leather and our manufacturing process. We use 100% imported Italian leather and manufacture all products here in California, USA. Our process of creation is complicated time consuming. We believe that our customers deserve the best. When choosing a new or limited color, it takes our CEO about 8 months of searching just to find leather that will work with our process. It has to be the right weight, feel and texture in order to bring you the comfort of a luxury strap.
- Do you ship to Europe?
Yes! For our European orders we prefer to use USPS via express mail. This is why we have a flat 30 dollar charge for European shipping. In our experience other forms of shipping, while less expensive, have repeatedly experienced significant delays - being held in customs for up to several weeks.
- Do you have any famous musicians endorsing your product?
You bet! Check out our Artists Endorsements page.
Let me add by saying that all of the players you see on our list, have never officially endorsed a guitar or bass strap before. Our inspiration comes from the fact that respected players say they didn’t realize how much a strap effected their playing until they put on a Moody. Gary Hoey says “you made me a better player, I can now play 90 min. sets without my shoulder hurting” Neil Zazza adds “yes, it is what holds up the guitar that is playing the music…if I’m feeling better, my music sounds better”.
